It is a pleasure to present this new collection of Thailand Leather Gloves, gloves with a rich history—they were the first model of boxing gloves manufactured by Buddha.

It all began one November in 1998, during my first trip to Thailand, when I came across a very small shop behind the old Lumpinee Stadium. I was impressed by the quality of the products, particularly the quality of the leather and the wide range of colors. The shop was run by an elderly woman with a strong personality who wasn’t one to haggle over prices.

I told her about my dream—of one day having my own factory in Thailand and creating my own brand—and she told me that her dream was to set up a small factory for her children, so they would never be without work.

We connected right away, and I promised her that if I ever started my own brand, she would be the first person I’d talk to. It was a tough time and I didn’t have much money, but I visited her three times a week. I always tried to get her to lower the price of the gloves so I could buy dinner, and she was so unassuming, yet had such a kind heart that she’d send her children to buy me food so I could spend my money at her store.

It was a sincere friendship. She eventually managed to set up her own small factory, which her children now
run.
